Devised by the company and set in 1918 Limehouse, Limehouse Nights was a response to the history of Chinese immigration to London.

Inspired by the real story of actress Billie Carleton's death by cocaine and the subsequent hounding of the Chinese community in the search for culprits and master villains of 'vice', Limehouse Nights also begins with the death of an actress. The policeman investigating the case shuns the racism of the time, but is equally deluded in his perception of China as a land of exoticism and mystery. His fascination leads to actions which ultimately become the most hurtful and damaging to the Chinese people whose lives he touches.
