Happy Here

September 2004          White Bear Theatre, London

Happy Here was the result of a desire to tell stories about lives which are often dismissed or forgotten. The director, Tom Underwood, was inspired by the working methods of practioners such as Mike Leigh and the piece was developed entirely through improvisation, with a narrative shaped by character relationships.

Alongside the director, an ensemble of six actors explored individual stories of lonliness, dislocation and the aspiration to be happy here and now.
